We take pride in serving you wholesome ingredients, preparing recipes accurately and providing nutritional analysis and ingredient statements through our online menus and nutrition calculator. From our general manager to our front line servers, we work carefully to address food allergies, celiac diets, or other special dietary needs.
Staff are trained to limit risk of cross-contact with food allergens via safe food storage, handling, preparation, serving, and labelling. The Simple Servings station takes additional precautions to prevent cross-contact with food allergens by using a dedicated area for food preparation and serving and administering additional training for its staff.
Students can request ahead of time to pick up a Simple Servings meal when the station is closed, such as on the weekends. Students can also use the Everyday app to order a build your own sub sandwich after hours, with options such as gluten-free bread.

All staff receive Sodexo's Food Allergy 101 training every semester. Managers, chefs, and dedicated Simple Servings employees are also Allertrain certified.

Students with a documented disability or a history of a documented disability, or those having a 504 Plan should email accessibility@coe.edu or contact the TRIO/AAP office at 319.399.8547 to schedule an initial appointment. Expect this meeting to take 30-45 minutes. Plan to bring: copies of IEP/504 plans, reports from medical/ psychological professions, description of current functional limitations, prognosis of disease process (if applicable, and explanation of how diagnosis substantially limits a major life activity.
The process of determining appropriate accommodation is based on the student’s report of past history, current experience, impressions of future needs, as well as the Coordinator’s professional assessment and knowledge of your academic plan. Third party documentation may be requested to augment reported information, provide additional suggestions for appropriate accommodations, or to expand understanding of student self-report.
Coe provides seven-days-a-week, 24-hours-per-day security through contracted services. The officers are trained in basic first aid, emergency procedures, patrolling and CPR. The Security Office is located in Upper Gage Union. Members of the Coe community are urged to notify the security office immediately concerning any criminal and/or suspicious activity or emergency that occurs on campus.
