University of California, San Diego
VerifiedPeanuts and peanut products are not used in any of our dining locations.
We are an a la carte operation, so any self-serve areas are only for beverages, utensils, appliances (i.e. microwaves, toasters), and condiments.
All dining staff who are involved in the preparation or service of our reduced allergen meals are AllerTrain U certified. All other dining staff are certified using AllerTrain Lite. All dining staff also receive an internal training specific to our university's policies, procedures, and processes.
The RDs are in regular contact with housing staff, including RAs, directors, and administrators regarding student dietary accommodations. This applies to daily living requirements as well as special events. The RDs are always reachable by the housing staff mentioned above, as well as the students residing in our housing. We are in the process of coordinating with our Res Life staff for food allergy training.
Visit https://osd.ucsd.edu/students/registering.html and submit a request for accommodations. Once your case has been reviewed and the necessary forms and supporting documentation have been received, OSD will contact Dining, Housing, faculty, and any other pertinent staff with your approved accommodation requirements.
UC San Diego is comprised of Campus (academic) and Health (medical), so our closest emergency medical facility is directly adjacent to campus.
