Food allergies & sensitivities form: https://www.reinhardtdining.com/allergy.html
Allergy Disclaimer: Metz Culinary Management makes every effort to identify ingredients that may cause allergic reactions for those individuals with food allergies. Items marked gluten friendly are made with no gluten-containing ingredients. Effort is made to instruct our food production staff on the severity of food allergies. Because of the number of meals served and the number of items used each day, along with food product changes from our food vendors, it cannot be guaranteed that every allergen in the food served will be identified and labeled. The possibility that manufacturers of the commercial foods we use could change the formulation at any time, without notice also exists. Guests concerned with food allergies must be aware of this risk. Metz Culinary Management cannot assume any liability for adverse reactions to food consumed, or items one may come in contact with while eating at any Metz-operated facility or catered event. Guests with life threatening food allergies who may need to use an epi-pen should be carrying their own. Metz team members are NOT trained to administer epi-pens and CANNOT provide or administer them.
"The residence halls and apartments provide more than just a place to sleep. They will provide an opportunity to become part of a community that fosters academic and personal growth. Hall programs such as movie nights, I-Bingo, Multicultural Food Night and the Annual Eagle Buck Auction are among the many activities you can enjoy. When you are just down the hall or across campus from your friends, it's much easier to make those late night pizza runs, to get together for study sessions or to catch the latest episode of Grey's Anatomy, Walking Dead, or The Voice." While food is clearly an integral part of on-campus housing, no mention is made regarding accommodations for those living with food allergies.
The mission of the Office of Housing and Residential Education at Reinhardt University is to foster a vibrant living community dedicated to personalized attention that embraces diversity, promotes leadership, cultivates individual development, and enhances the educational experience of each resident. If you have a disability that affects your housing needs, register with this office so we can review other options. Because it can take time to find appropriate accommodations for housing needs.
"OCR enforces Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (Title II), which prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability. Every school district and nearly every institution of postsecondary education in the United States is subject to Section 504 or Title II. Entities covered by these civil rights laws have an obligation to comply with legal requirements and to carry out their programs and activities in a manner that does not discriminate on the basis of disability.
Institutions of postsecondary education must provide an appropriate academic adjustment based on students’ disabilities and individual needs when necessary to avoid discrimination. In providing an academic adjustment, a postsecondary institution does not have to eliminate or lower essential requirements, or make modifications that would result in a fundamental alteration of the programs or activities being offered or impose an undue burden on the institution."
