Students may ask a manager, supervisor, chef, or RD for full ingredient lists at any time. Students can also visit the Dining Services website to view a list of the common allergens and ingredients. The everyday app is also available for students to view the University Dining Center menu. The Everyday app shows the top allergens and the full ingredient list of menu items. This is a simple and easy way for students to plan ahead before entering the dining hall. Check it out here.

All dining service staff who work at short-order stations are trained upon hiring and monitored for compliance with cross-contact procedures. Procedure signs are also posted at specific stations as a reference for employees. All new and current employees are encouraged to ask managers, chefs, or the RD if they have any questions on proper procedures.

The Simple Servings station offers food made without the FDA most-common allergens of tree nuts, peanuts, shellfish, wheat, soy, milk products, eggs and sesame. All foods offered at this station are made without gluten-containing ingredients. Fish dishes are included in the varied menu options as a healthy protein choice. Most students are able to eat safely at Simple Servings. 

Pre-ordered meals are used for students with extreme allergies (Outside of top nine) and students should contact Hailey Holland, the campus dietitian to set up a 1:1 meeting so she can help support your dining experience on campus.

At MNSU the Simple Servings station has its own equipment (oven, grill, stove, etc.), smallwares, coolers, and service area. Smallwares, cutting boards, serving utensils etc., are all colored purple to ensure those items are only used at the Simple Servings station.
