VerifiedStaff are trained in cross contact procedures through food allergy training inclusive of ways to minimize cross contact.
Layout of salad bar to group like-allergen containing items together. Offerings include individual tongs and serving utensils. Students may request self serve items from back up containers at the salad bar. Staff are trained not to overfill containers to reduce risk of spillage.
Dedicated toaster is available for toasting of gluten free bread and bagels.
In resident dining, students can pre-order meals with our campus dining team if it is determined that the student requires dining accommodations.
The Simply 3 station offers menu items made without peanuts, tree nuts, gluten, wheat and milk. Simply 3 is open for lunch and dinner.
All managers, chefs, supervisors, registered dietitians and those working with Simply 3 are required to hold the AllerTrain certificate. Food Allergy 101 for Simply 3 is required for all staff upon hire and at least once annually. Ongoing food allergy training is provided weekly to frontline staff at meetings. Specific training for SImply 3 receivers is in place.
