Serving utensils are changed out every 30 minutes, and serving lines are sanitized throughout service.
Students are also prompted to take a clean plate each time they visit the serving line.
Additionally, our chefs batch cook. This means that there are untouched batches of food ready for students that have a concern. And, separate food preparation can be available upon request.
Students can call in to the kitchen at 717.815.6619 and request a dish made ahead of time that is free from sauces, drizzles, toppings, etc.
Students can also call the same number, or email dining@ycp.edu to set up a meeting with our team to discuss their food allergies and design a plan specifically for them.

- How to speak with a student when they approach you with an allergy concern
Residence Life programming food is ordered through our catering department. When an order is placed, there is a textbox that can be filled out by the person placing the order. This is where special requests can be made, or notes can be written to let Dining Services know about a guest with an allergy. We will handle of each these on a case by case basis.
