VerifiedThe Everyday by Sodexo menu app provides complete allergen and ingredient information for all prepared dishes served in our main dining room, the Restaurants at the Top of the CRUC. Menu boards at each point of service indicate if any of the top nine allergens are in the dish. Peanuts and tree nuts (with the exception of coconut - which is no longer classified by the FDA as a true tree nut for allergy purposes) are not allowed in any of the dishes prepared for service in the Restaurants at the Top of the CRUC. Our main, all-you-care-to-eat dining room is a nut-free zone.
The Simple Servings and Simply Taco points of service offer foods that contain NO eggs, wheat, gluten, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, milk, soy or sesame. Fin fish is sometimes offered at Simple Servings. We have separate storage, preparation, cooking and serving areas and utensils for the dishes served at these locations. Our chefs, supervisors, and Simple Servings and Simply Taco servers have all received AllerTrainU training on the protocols to be followed for ensuring the safe preparation and service of foods for those with allergies to any of the nine food allergens mentioned above.
Preparation areas are cleaned and sanitized between preparations of diverse food ingredients. Each ingredient is put into cleaned and sanitized serving containers. Containers are not overfilled to help prevent spillage onto nearby containers of other ingredients. Each food item has a dedicated serving utensil. Sneeze guards are located over self-serve food items.
Special meals can be arranged through consultation with the Executive Chef. Those meals are prepared and stored separately until picked up by the student.
Full meals free of these allergens are available for lunch and dinner 7 days a week at Simple Servings. Taco bowls and other Hispanic dishes free of these same allergens are available at Simply Taco weekdays for lunch and dinner.
We are the first and, so far, only campus food operation that offers an allergy-friendly taco option in a resident dining program! Simply Tacos offers two meat options, veggies, rice and salsas for the taco or burrito bowls, plus a baked potato bar, pastas and sauces. All of these dishes are free from milk, eggs, wheat, gluten, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, or sesame.
